MAC users have reported white screen issues, here is a fix.

The white screen with Mac issue seems to be caused exclusively by steam, not your software. Disabling steam overlay before launching the game should resolve it for 99% of the people who complain about getting a white screen when they launch your game through steam. To disable, they should open up the steam library, and right click on Influent, then click properties, and make sure steam overlay is not enabled.
More patches are on the way. Thank you every one for reporting here.

White Screen
Every time I boot up the game on my Mac it shows the loading screen with the grinning moon (?) and then goes to white, but the music still plays. I bought the Korean language only.

Some minor errors I've found.
I purchased the Swedish language version of Influent to check it out and see if I could recommend it to my friends, as they are keen to learn my native language. I've noticed that this game have some issues with what we Swedes refer to as "särskriving", which is when you put a space between two words that should form to mean something else entirely.

A few examples (not from the game), just to solidify what särskrivning is;
-Kassamedarbetare = Cashier coworkers, -Kassa Medarbetare = Lousy Coworkers.
-Giftorm = Venomous snake, -Gift Orm = Married Snake.

And so on and so forth. Most of these särskrivningsord don't always change meaning quite this dramatically (sometimes they don't at all), but it completely breaks the flow of reading and people will become confused later if they aren't taught the difference.

The most obvious of these särskrivningar that I've found in Influent so far is the cell phone, which is written as "mobil telefon" when it should be simply "mobiltelefon". In this particular word it doesn't really make that much of a difference, other than being grammatically wrong, as the meaning doesn't change too much (mobil can mean movable/transportable, as well as being one of these http://www.ikea.com/us/en/images/products/leka-mobile__0104964_PE252138_S4.JPG ).

I'm just saying you guys need to keep these things in mind.

Other than that, I've thoroughly enjoyed the short time I've spent with Influent so far and I will definitely recommend it to my friends.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback. My friend from Sweden did all the translations and may have made a few errors that I wouldn't be able to notice. I'll update the data base and release an update soon! Please let me know if you find any other errors. :)

Wait you got sweedish to work? I purchased mandarian and spanish but can only do Japanese

It would be nice if there was a way to skip the intro if you're starting a second save file. If there is a way already, I couldn't figure it out. (I know this isn't an error, just a suggestion, but it felt pointless to start a new thread just for that.)

I also got Japanese and a few more with DLC but I'm not having any problems. Where exactly does the game keep you from accessing the DLC?

ESC key worked for me, do you mean the story or the robot part?

I tried that! I meant the story intro video thing. But if ESC worked for you, it might be my PC acting up. Thanks for the help!

database is one word. I have a feeling this is where the issue arose from.

Is there a function to report bugs from in game? Would make this easier.

Also it only ever speaks "Lampa" when it shows Belysning, which is frustrating as it marks the lamp as incorrect.

Also, it would be great if it were possible to indicate if the nouns are en or ett words.

Performance Issues
I've played with the resolution and anti-aliasing, but I'm getting embarassing performance in this game. When I get near the fruit bowl in the kitchen the game sutters to a near stop. Also, when I get a star on a word, the game stutters and stops breifly.

I have a pretty serious gaming rig:

Core i7 950 Quad-Core
12GB triple channel DDR3
Radeon HD5790 1GB DDR5

I know it's not bleeding edge anymore, but if I can run TitanFall on high settings and 1920x1200 resolution, I think I should be able to max this game out. :-)

Anyone else having similar issues?
AdamLazaruso Mar 22 @ 7:03am
Yep, framerate issues for me on a GTX 470 at 1680x1050 (although only with a crappy Core 2 Duo E8500 as my CPU).
Professor Membrane Mar 22 @ 7:16am
Yeah, but this game should run like a top on a lightly overclocked Celeron coppermine. :-)
Timetravelling Jellyfish Mar 22 @ 7:30am
So do I, especially after playing about an hour, it gets nearly unplayable, I have to close it and restart it then. I have a GTX 780ti, a i7-3930k and 16gb ram.

List of errors in the French version
So I've finished the French version and noticed a few things that could use some fixing:
1. Évier (kitchen sink) and lavabo (bathroom sink/basin) are not really synonyms and should be separate words in most languages (I guess this is a limitation due to the design of the game, where it isn't customized for different languages, just translated?)
2. For doors verb you are given the words ouvrir (to open) and fermer (to close). The translation always says "Open".
3. Same goes for the light switch - you are given allumer and éteindre as synonyms even though they are actually antonyms. Again, only translation for allumer (Turn on) is available.
4. The words calçon, médicaments, coussin, corbeille, casserole, gommer, éclairer, guérir, tasse, remplir have bad quality audio - it plays only in one ear and some of it sounds like the person talking is far away.
5. Yaourt and yogourt have the same pronunciation in the game even though they should not.
---
x. (this one is not an error, just something I would like to see) - It would be nice to have a little note associated with some of the synonyms. It's nice that you can choose a synonym to show as primary but you're left completely in the dark as to which one to choose. Are they really equivalent? Is one of them more informal? Is one of them more commonly used in Canada?

Anyway, I hope the game is successful and there will eventually be more extensions, because I really like the concept - you immediately connect objects with their name in the foreign language instead of first connecting it with the name of the object in your mother tongue.
I'm off to play the German DLC now :)

Good luck!
