For some reason the devs didnt bundle the libs needed with the game, so there's a shellscript included that you can run to install the libs from the repos. It is as follows:
sudo apt-get install libsdl2-dev libsdl2-mixer-2.0-0 libopenal-dev libsdl-mixer1.2 mono-complete
So run that in a terminal, let it install, then the game should launch.
The games launchscript should at least look for the dependencies you'd think, but oh well.

Bump. Fails for me too in Slackware64-current. I have mono installed as well (built from slackbuilds.org).

Games that depend on libraries (LIKE MONO) that aren't installed by default in SteamOS are going to have the SteamOS icon forcibly removed from the store[www.tweaktown.com].

It won't show up in the store in SteamOS. It won't show up as supporting Linux.

Bundle it or go home, devs.

Thanks for the information. Apologies for not knowing more about Linux distribution. I've added this issue to our support queue for when we return from PAX Aus.
