[SOLVED] Getting an error when starting the game
[See the second post for the solution if you have this issue.]

When I try to start the game this is what happens:
1. The game goes full-screen and I see the intro movie.
2. I get kicked back to desktop with an error message asking me to look at a log file.
3. The game is still running, and if I go back into it I see that it's on the main interface screen (with the Start button and all) but I can't click anything.

The content of the log file is:
----------------------

File "main.py", line 35, in main
File "main.py", line 69, in gamemain

For reference, I'm on 64-bit Windows 8.

Not sure what I should do to get this working, let me know if you need any more information.

Never mind, did some googling around and found the solution.

This is apparently a slightly older game, and if you run into the issue I did, you have to make it run in compatibility mode.

To do that:
1. Open the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble\prog". (Adjust the path if you installed Steam elsewhere. Another way of getting there would be to right-click the game in the Steam Library, choose Properties, switch to the Local Files tab, choose Browse Local Files, and go into the prog subfolder.)
2. Right-click on the brigiton.exe file (or the one called just "brigiton" if you have one) and choose Properties.
3. Switch to the Compatibility tab.
4. Check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for" checkbox and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)" from the dropdown.
5. Close the window with OK.

Haven't tried the game much further than that yet, but at least got past this issue. :)
