Serena is a 3D first person point and click game adventure game developed through the colaboration of sevral video game companies. You play as an old man who has lost his memory and trying to find where his wife Serena is.
The story is superb. Plot is told through the voices of the protagonist as well as his wife. Narrative to well paced to still wide range of emotions including happiness, sadness, regret, fear and anger. There are many plot twists in the game which will leave you guessing what's going on. The ending as well as the overall experience will leave you reflecting on your experience as well as the dark story which has been unravelled...
Graphics are good. The dark colour on objects instills a dark and uneasy atmosphere. Objects are well detailed, but nothing spectacular.
Gameplay is reminiscent of others in it's genre. You interact with objects by clicking with the left mouse button. There are no keyeboard controls, except for the 'escape' button which closes the game (be careful of this) as well as the 'space bar' which highlights objects to interact with. Movement is also controlled by indicating in a direction with your mouse and left clicking. There is no save system in the game, so you have to complete it in one playthrough. Progression is made from interacting with the objects in the cabin which will cause the main character to reflect on his past and shine light on the where about of his wife as well as his current predicament. You will have to interact with the same items more than once to getter a better understanding of the story and move the game forward.
Audio is top notch. The player character (who is also the narrator) voice acting is authentic and relatable. The female voice actor is good as well. Interaction sounds with objects are clear and realistic.
With an excellent story as well as being absolutely free, there is no reason not to pick up this masterpiece whether your fan of point and click games or curious to try it out.
