Do not hit escape
Unless of course you want to start all over, immediately deleted as I have no patience for that sort of thing.

Yeah... I spent half an hour observing everything around the cabin and nothing happened, so I hit escape. Woops.

Good thing it takes about 1 minute to repeat what you've done if you just keep clickin'.
Dialogue can be skipped with a click on another object. No worries!

No one cares if you don't play though, they aren't losing money on this one, it's free.

Yeah, I ended up re-doing it, and yeah, it took no a minute or two to click through the dialogue. No big deal. Decent short story, glad I finished.

yup an hr in... hit escape... and BAM gone

too late. I was trying to see if I could access the options/settigns menu and I assumed it was ESC key. Lesson of the day: never assume. =(

i lost subtitles at the end and hit esc to see if i could re-enable them somehow. Welp!

Yeah, I dunno why they made the ESC key close the game.

Well, the partial reason was that we really didn't have time to work on a menu and options, especially given the brevity of the game. At the same time, it's kind of cool this "immediacy" present in Serena: you start the game and you're instantly playing, and whenever you want out you hit ESC. Just like opening and closing a book :)

But yeah, rest assured that the engine will support save and loading, and of course creation of menus.

Wait, so there is NO save and loading? hahahahahahhaha!

Hello Spongebob
No, there is only 1-1,5 hour of play time. Also it would hurt the experience to not play it in one piece.

Its aweful. Also alt+tab doesnt work well.
So dont want to start again. Unistalling and recommended to everyone to not even try this crap with that annoying issues.
The storry even looked interesting, but the options issue makes it unplayable. Even being a free to play game, this is a complete crap.

Its not cool, its annoying. And ofc, this is NOT like opening and closing a book. When I close a book, I usually use a piece of paper. This way when I come back, I dont need to start it again. Maybe some people dont know that trick.

Valmar, it takes like 1 minute of clicking to get back to where-ever you hit escape. It's really not worth crying over. Spend the extra minute getting back to where you were, finish the game and you never have to think about it again. The developer already said that it will eventually support saving so there's nothing more you can do - whining on here and insulting the game and developer will get you nowhere. Maybe offer some constructive criticism?

So a autosave and perhaps F1 to restart with a confirmation question before would technically make you happy while Agustin still has his book experience?

Also if you activate the Steam overlay before tabbing out, you can move the mouse pointer.

Yeah, sorry if I offended someone. Just not intended, I just was trying to explain why I think that feature is bad. As I said, game was looking interesting, and for free!
Maybe developer want us to play it straight without any pause. Then ok I can accept it. I just dont like it nowadays, sorry for that.

For me, the main problem is not receiving any kind of advice about that will happen; you just press ESC and you are out. And I didnt like it, it has frustrated me a lot.

Regards.

Playing this game in one piece is definitely anyways the best way to play it. Alos it's only 1-1,5h long. But yes it's understandable that not getting any information that Escape is quitting the game is a problem.
