I don't own the game, but if your question didn't get answered for a week, the game is likely dead in multiplayer.

it seems it is.... damn this was good game
I would, if I could play it without fiddling with ram. I would even buy it here on steam.

Problem is that Atari shut down the matchmaking servers...

See a solution at SSG-S.

Game working under Win7 with 64-Bit and 8 GB Ram.

Would not say RTS is dying just because no one plays an old game. There are more RTS players now then ever before, its just a reduced percentage as the console market got bigger. Lots of good new RTS out this year; Company of Heroes, Total War and Wargame to name a few. I would still play this but I can't get it to run on my new computer. Really hope they make a sequel someday.

Yeah, when the Wargame European escalation came out it wasn't so good as WIC yet, it seems that none want to remeber old good games.

WiC waas a great game but howeever I wouldn't compare Wargame wth it.
WiC was far less tatctical in the "normal" nmoddet version. Whenever you got a situation you couldn't solve by sending units, you just sent a support strike. In Wargamee, even those have to be planned. Artillery has to be sent in a good firing position and has to get ammo once it fired.

WiC was sure a great game but mapcontrol is (if you ask me) unimportant tto the win/loss of a game. Wargame is focused on defeating the enemies' units whilst WiC was all about conquered land.

Why should the guy that entrechned his units the best lose because of unimportant land?
Just sit and wat for the enemy to make an mistake.

Well...on the other hand...this is the biggest problem in Wargame....
There are so many situations where nothing happens for a long time.
