Solutions for game crashes
If you get the crash pop-up screen, please lookup the name of the issue inside it and refer to the correct section:

"Uknown error while trying to decode BASS Stream"
> This happens if you have an ASUS soundcard with GX Mode enabled. This mode is known for causing some game to crash, and sadly it happens to Melody's Escape too. Disabling GX Mode fixes the issue (I will try to solve that in the future if possible)

"Buffer lost while trying to play BASS LiveStreamChannel"
> An application running on your computer is using Exclusive access to the soundcard, preventing Melody's Escape to play the music. This can happen in VOIP softwares like Mumble or TeamSpeak in their sound output is configured in Exclusive mode. Disabling that settings or closing the application allows you to play.

Other errors
or
No error message, the .exe crashes directly
> Please try to reinstall the XNA Framework Redistributable 4.0 and/or .NET Client Profile (you can find the installers in the _CommonRedist folder of the game, or you can download them from Microsoft's website)

When I just saw this game in steam I bought it right away because I really wanted to play it. But by just pressing 'play' I already get an error. I checked everything was installed right and redid everything but still same problem:' ---------------------------

Hi heleenj,

Can you please try to uninstall and reinstall .NET Client Profile 4.0? (that can found in the game's _CommonRedist folder or on the net)

It seems that the installation is corrupted.

Thank you

Can you please try to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft XNA Framework Redistributable 4.0, and if that doesn't fix it, reinstall .NET Client Profile 4.0?

If you go in the game's properties via Steam, please select "LOCAL FILES" and then click on "Verify integrity of game cache..."

Thanks. I'm not sure what to advise you. Is your Steam client up to date? This looks like a Steam error, nobody else was ever stuck there after rebooting :\
