Were Tale of Tales influenced by Rule of Rose to develop The Path?
I finish this game today, and I was that. There is much in The Path that remind me Rule of Rose. Even the music.

Wow, not many people have played Rule of Rose. I can certainly see your comparison. Did you complete Rose?

Yes, and I almost cried. It may not be the best game I played, nor even the scariest, however it has best endings ever!

Yes, the ending was amazing indeed. I also think it has some of the besst cutscenes in all of gaming! I would love to see a remastered version with better combat and slightly clearer objectives.

It would be great. :)

Wow, never thought I would find more people that liked Rule of Rose. I agree, this game reminds me of that as well. I actually have the OST, and would play "Backbiting" when I explored.

Rule of Rose is one of my favorite games. When I played, I wrote some details and the tales in my notebook
I really dedicated myself the that game.

I dont think so, since, the developmen team said is more like a quest for values or something.. like that. To force the player to decide by playing the rule society give you (act correct, follow the road) or decide by yourself (explore around and learn from your mistakes). I think is just a litte coincidence.
While, Rule of Rose is more about the pressure and bulling ambient a young girl can also suffer in a orphanage. The only thing I see .. almost the same "Spoiler".

1. Girls
2. A little clue about someone been ♥♥♥♥.

That is the only thing.. that I think look a like..well..Is my opinion since, I finish bot games, The Path..I bough it outside steam with the official side of the game.

That is the only thing..

I see much more things then that.

For exemple:
The way the music is worked in both games. In The Path we have the same "motif" playing on and on, but slighty diferent as we walk in the forest. In Rule of Rose it happened too - the musics Monday, Piano Etude, Love Suicide and many others are all the same motif. And the motifs of both games have the same depressive felling.

The off-tune melody of the music and the childish laugh from The Path (when we walk by the road) also reminds me Rule of Rose - every now and then it is heard some children laughing as if some kids are playing nearby.

Both games are based on the earliest fairy-tales and use them to create an ambient where love, sex, solitude, violence, fun and friendship are confronted through the eyes of children.

In The Path, the children/teenagers are left alone by an absent mother, one by one, at the road to grand-mother's house. In Rule of Rose, all the adults - one by one - leave the orphanage leaving the children by themselves.

Definetly agree, the two are very similar. I haven't finished The Path yet but it's resemblance to Rule of Rose drew me in. Super eerie.

Now I want to play that. :-(

Okay...I'm looking for Rule of Rose. I finished The Path. Love the game; sad, disturbing, interesting. Very in-depth.

I googled Rule of Rose and could not find it for PC. :(
