It's a driver issue. You need to rollback to 13.4, that one works fine. You should report this issue to AMD, I did the same, so they can fix it in the next Catalyst release.

Most likely this, though I find it strange that I can run it fine on my old 5570, but my 6870 can't. TECHNOLOGY at it's finest.

So AMD just released the Beta driver 13.11. I installed it but had to find out that they still didn't fix the problem with RTC3. Guess I'll buy Nvidia next time, less problems.

Chances are they haven't heard of the bug yet. Roll back your driver to 13.4 instead of being dumb.

Instead of being dumb? Wow. What a ridiculously DUMB and ♥♥♥ hole thing to say. Shame on you, sir.

The fact is AMD cards cause more problems than nVidia. Deny it all you want, but this is statistically true. Just look at any forum for a game and you'll find this to be the case. I speak 100% from experience too. I've used AMD for years, pretty much since I started caring about cards, and I have had COUNTLESS problems that nVidia users never experience. I don't want to go through the list, but it's just how it is. Devs generally use nVidia and, for whatever reason, this causes compatibility issues with AMD. Especialy crossfire. Everytime I've had a problem I disable xFire and 96% of the time it solved the issue. I'm looking at you Skyrim and Shogun 2...

So while it's true the quality of the image is on par with nVidia, behind the scenes AMD is much harder to work with. Also, don't be a ♥♥♥♥.

I won't rollback to an ancient driver version just because of one game. I want to play Battlefield 4 and Borderlands 2 as well. By the way, I am pretty sure they have heard of the issues because I have reported them to AMD weeks ago.

They probably haven't heard of it much, because if only one guy that has a problem reports it, chances are they'll discard it as a software problem. It's frustrating, I know, but nothing is gonna change it unless we all report it. I did already. It's also a beta driver, so I'll wager they don't want to risk anything until they have a solid build.

I didn't have to rollback my driver, just turned off Steam overlay and the lag was fixed (I have a Radeon 7950 using latest beta drivers)...a lot of older games have trouble dealing with Steam overlay.

Now you got my hopes up. I just tried this out and it still lags.

If you're in windowed mode and hold on to right click the game doesn't lag and stutter. Why is that?
benton18 Nov 29, 2013 @ 3:34pm
same problem here, steam overlay community disabled ingame but still lagging like hell, (q9550+7870)

Is that your CPU? It could be bottlenecking your GPU.
