Major Lag on High-End PC

Hello! I just bought Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum. The first 2-3 times i played the game there was no lag at all. But then i had to reinstall the game because i installed a new harddrive and now its lagging like hell. I have tried to reinstall it several times and deleting all the files and the installing it again. My system specifications are: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, AMD FX-8350, 8GB 1866Mhz of ram and a HD Radeon 7970. Why does the game lag?

check for updated video drivers. also you could adjust your resolution. or try running under Windows xp compatibilty mode.

well, you have to know: RCT III is old ;)
Maybe you opened a big map with too many light sources (-> costum map) in a resolution higher than 14xx*9xx? That might be the problem: RCT III uses only one core of your processor, so big maps are a problem for your hardware, althought it is not that bad

Same here ,when I finnaly got my version working it LAGS so so bad. I tried every compat mode and unsintalling clearing the computer of any file from RCT3 atari etc and it still runs like crap. It used to run fine which is the sad thing. I am running the latest driver on my video card and it lags really bad now

I am running a Gigabyte Radeon HD 7790 2GDDR5 card a AMND fx6200 3.8gh 6 core processor 10gb ddr3 1600 ram and 1.5 tb hard drive. My driver was updated and it is the July 26 2013 version and I do not see a newer one happening

have any of you tried changing your video card setting for just this specific game. like anti-laising,vsync,triple buffering...etc. i know on my nvidia 8800 i can choose exactly what i want for a specific game's .EXE file so when that game starts up it only does what i want it to do.

also could re-install directX also.

next i would just "dumb down" your video card inorder to play this old game on a newer card.
