This is what D&D is missing. A Barbarian turned Bard that gets units to fight for him by playing sick riff after riff on his sweet axe.
It's a fairly simple and repetitious game. Bad guys come in waves to try and attack the town crystal while you and your units try to defend it. You use notes to summon units as well as power ups and can collect them and coins from fallen enemies. This is a whole day affair and is broken up into parts. For instance if you completed Morning but died or needed to quit the game, you can skip that phase the next time you play and go on to Afternoon. You can also buy upgrades that will help you achieve victory like a town drunk that spews on the ground to help slow enemies or better barracks and colleges for your units so when they come out of them, they are a higher level and will do more damage. However, you can only buy upgrades after each death or else the coins you collected will disappear. This goes for unused notes as well.
It's a cute game, a little frustrating, and a great time killer.
