Dev Here! Gameplay Suggestions?
Hey all. I hope you are enjoying Magicite as much as my friends and I have!

Feel free to shoot any crazy ideas you have at me, this game is very susceptible to change! I'm glad I have all of you to play it and help me along the way to make Magicite the best it can be.

Maybe changes in timer before incursion? Maybe disable it or someway to reset it?

Someone suggested for characters to always start out with the 3 basic wood tools to reduce the early grind

1. Early game I would exclude Swamp as a new born spawn, the mobs of that spawn are really a problem, due to their high damage + range attack, but after gearing up its get better.

2. Upgrading would be awesome, but I think that crafting a item and having a thrill on what the loot is going to give is awesome. I would say that doing that only in armor or something similar, or in a city above like 5th district.

Extra: What people have been complaining a lot its the friendly fire, especially when you are playing with 4 people and one of them lag. Also what is the fun to not be able to fight with your friend a same mob. But on the other side, you can easily kill mobs with 4 people attacking at the same time. I would say at least making arrows not ff.

Strating with a Wooden Axe is already fine, you only need to get the hang on it. What me and my mates have been having trouble is the incursion time on the first map, cause in that one we are getting some resources.

any way to speed up character movement just a smidge? they feel like they move just a fraction too slowly.

Also just gonna go ahead and resubmit my desire for stealth features, because of course I am.

Hey Sean,

Really good so far! The steam update seemed to bring all the things I needed in the beta and alpha! A couple of things though:

1) For me at least the resoultion option doesn't work

2) If you kill a blacksmith in town whenever you press up you get the black smith screen(tested 3 times without fail)

3) Kinda a bit easy

4) the immunity times seem a tad off after being hit and hitting enemies

5) the snowballs falling from the ceiling of the snow biome seem a bit fast

6) Spiders seem a bit fast and their hit box is off, when standing right beside them you can hit them

7) Skills don't seem to be working, had three axes, never saw one spawn

So good though, and if anyone finds out what bugs are used for let me know!
EDIT: found out that you craft em together to make gems.

8) Combinding different types of bugs to make mixed gems(think the way magika works)

1.) I would enjoy if you got to choose what skill you got under when spec'ing into a tree.

2.) I would like the scaling of the skills to be a bit higher. I remember having a throwing axe skill for the warrior that scaled off of my att. I think I had like, 20? However, the skill was only doing 1's. :/

1) Well, it works perfeclty for me, but there were some people complaining about it.

3) Depends on who you are. I think at this state is perfect.

5) I think they are totaly fine, you just have to watch(If you are complaining about this, watch out with the spikes on the dungeon).

7) Working for me and friends.

Good so far, but one thing it get on my nerves is, that items automatically go in the Slotbar. So if i early and fight against Enemies bare Hands, and it auto-pick items, i can`t fight against them because of the Items..and in a fight i can`t sort the Items out to the Inventory...

Great game so far, classic side scrolling with an RPG and crafting element which i really enjoy. However the crafting can be a bit confusing at times.. and there is definitely a learning curve. Also, I am sure you are aware, but there are what me and my friends call "hacker bee's" on the forrest tile maps. If they kill you, they can push you literally off the map all the way to the begining. lmao. All in all, great stuff so far. keep it up.

Hello like the game is hard az :} i like the idea of keeping my armour and weapons upon death or the point\shop system you posted and maybe a house too store your stuff and change a bit sort of like monster hunter 3 would be sick thanks :)

Hello, first impression of the game has been really good for me - I died at least a dozen times in a short amount of playtime - but it was fun, exciting and challenging.

I have a suggestion regarding item-use, could that quick-bar at the top also have hot-keys in order to switch items quickly - or is it intentional that we must: Open inventory and swap items. Or am I not understanding how to do it correctly?

Also, could you please make the announcement/event text that shows up on screen stay for longer - I kept missing the messages. (One of which was probably: "OMG monster that does 9999 dmg incoming!" LOL.

Another thing, is it possible to sell unwanted items/materials to a shopkeeper? Or is the only option to throw it on the ground.

Also, if I quit the game while my character is alive - will I be able to continue playing him next time I start the game? I think some kind of auto-save in order to keep perma-death intact is important - but I also think a save option is a must, maybe even just: Save on exit.

Lastly I just want to say the game is fantastic, the character movement/platforming is smooth, the enemy attack-patterns really keep you on your toes and the challenge/fear of permanent-death makes it all very exciting.

Oh, actually - one other thing: Does that Scourge monster-thing always appear if you take too long in a given area? and how long roughly do you have before he turns up to 1-hit you :P

Thanks for the great game! :D

Not really a game-play suggestion, but would you be able to implement V-sync? The pixel-art is lovely, but I get pretty obvious screen-tearing which is a shame.

Great game so far. I think there must be an option to turn friendly fire off. Also, monsters do not friendly fire themselves, if it's on, it must be on for monsters too. I don't know how you can improve this, but it's somehow hard to find people to play with atm. Maybe a lobby system?
