B: The grenades are bugged right now on that stage.. having no range limit.. so yeah.. bad.
C: Cover only makes you harder to hit in theory, but on this build.. It seem you get hit more often then before.
D: Not sure about that, it may just be visual, and you still get the cover bonus even if not crouched down.
E: From what I know, confusion just mark a target.. Makes them easier to hit, and some skill do extra effect on them, but otherwise it doesn't change much for the enemy.
F: The AI can be quirky, was your brutus wounded? They might prefer to try and kill people.. then hit the closest person, who knows.. they are funny like that.
That said, the last Mission pretty much need Bears.. 2-3 Conjurer can make your life that much easier in it.. But hey, things will improve.. so keep at it, and have fun.
I have in the same player sword and blunt, so now you mentioned it i am not sure what weapon was it . But it was two in a row(and in two or three missions continiously) the huge guy inside the building. Conjurer would made my life easier if he could heal, but the last ability ist'n that.
Cover can be tricky as sometimes the enemy flanks you when your THINK you should be in cover, the new UI display will hopefully make this more visible.

Lee and myself beat it by takeing less than 6 damange to our team mates by spawning wave apawn wave of ghost bears. 4 team mates each with a ghost bear we killed one npc per wave. And just kept doing that till no one was left. Would have taken no damage but we did get one grenade bug.
