Upcoming Update Plan & Discussion (Update)
--- Incoming update for Calibre 10 Racing Series ---

Following the release earlier this year, we are proud to announce a major update to Calibre 10 Racing Series.

Let us share the current list of features for the incoming update.

Vehicle Physics Update KLOSS
This is just the start to a series of updates where every vehicle will be treated individually. For this update we focus on the KLOSS racing vehicle. The goal here is to offer more fine control around the neutral steering-angle together with a reworked acceleration/brake mechanics. IMPORTANT: We will restrict vehicle selection to KLOSS C1 only for some time.

Teamplay Improvements

Shooter needs Driver to pickup ammunition
In order to further emphasize team interactions, a new weapon unlock mechanic will be introduced with this update. Every shooter from now will start with the Sniper weapon available with infinte ammo. To get better weapons, the shooter needs his driver to collect powerups adding a limited number of ammonution to either the Burst or Missile weapons.

Driver needs Shooter to collect Nitroboost
For the driver the Nitro powerups will be removed and the new way to get nitro boost is for the shooter to cause damage on other vehicles which will benefit the driver’s nitro load.

In short: The driver is well advised to make sure his shooter gets a neat flow of weapons and ammonution and in return the driver will receive Nitro from the shooter successfully generating damage on the opposition.

In addition for every kill done by a shooter, his driver will receive a full restore of the nitro bar.

Adding a Health Powerup
Players asked us for this powerup, so here we go. Running over the powerup will restore full health to the driver.

Simplified Matchmaking
With a limited number of players right now, we've decided to skip Class/Calibre progression for right now and stick with Calibre 1 Class. Once we are feeling confident with the tuning of all C1 vehicles & weapons we will re-introduce C2 & C3.

Tell us your thoughts on the upcoming changes.
We expect the update to go live next week.

Nice! I love the implementation where nitro and ammunition is dependant to the teammate. This will for example eliminate drifting endlessly to always have nitro (like I showcased in a video) or the shooter just shooting everybody and ignoring their teammate. Can't wait for the update!

TimWalker: can you hint me towards the endless drifting video?

lol This is more a suggestion than constructive contribution to the discussion but for matchmaking purposes I think it would be cool if each player could be recognized as say a specialty driver (lap times) or shooter (targets hit/accuracy) or possibly both if they can manage to hit the required score in both disciplines. You could then place a badge next to their name for boasting rights and the matchmaking server could even maybe designate each team so many badged players for even distribution of skilled players. O dammit, Here I am thinking I just thought of this awesome idea for the game then I realized they have a similar thing going in titanfall....It would still be cool. :-)

Why not focus on things that will improve the singleplayer experience? Add local splitscreen for example.

Is this game still being developed?
comp9 Sep 30, 2015 @ 6:07am
No, hasn't had an update in more than a year and the developers don't talk on the forums here anymore. Definitely avoid this game.
so did this update ever made it to the game???

No, not one thing has taken place.

I kind of think I know why development is gone.

Steam says I own Caliber 10 but I actually only activated a key for a beta test for free. I think someone made a mistake and distributed actual real keys for 100% of the game, then there was a fight and the team was not a team anymore.

Where did you hear about that?

He used the words "I think" this means he didn't hear about it from anywhere. Everything after those words were his thoughts and theory.
