Don't bash the game for Mircosoft's doing. PS controllers have NEVER natively worked on Windows while Xbox have as Microsoft want it to be that way as they own both. However that doesn’t mean it's impossible though with third party drivers like Motionjoy for example.

I'm just saying...if the first thing your game is going to say to me is something about a gamepad maybe first you should make more than an xbox controller work with it...i understand alot of games are this way....i understand this is microsoft but i also understand i have had plenty of games work nativly with a PS controller and they dont talk about "gamepads" at the start of their game!

TIL it's Microsoft's fault for not supporting every controller ever before they get released. OP isn't telling us anything about his setup. Not OS or anything, but there's always a way to make a pad work. Google is your friend.

Just install your Playstation controller drivers on your pc.

Hell, if you're too lazy or don't know how, download a software like MotionJoy to do it for you. You can just emulate a Xbox controller with your PS controller and it works fine on every game.

I'm playing with my PS3 controller. The issue is on your side.

My PS Controller works with my PC, it's fairly straightforward to get it working.

I got my PS DualShock 2 gamepads to work using x360ce. Here is what I did:
1. Download x360ce from Google.
2. Unzip the files to a folder on your computer.
3. Run the x360ce.exe program and follow the configuration setup to make sure it works with your gamepad.
4. Under Options, check "xinput9_1_0.dll" in the Installed Files section.
5. Close the program and it will have created an x360ce.ini and xinput9_1_0.dll file. Copy these files to the game's folder. For me it was here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Ethan Meteor Hunter\
Next time you run the game it should now work.
