This is a very different, very cute game!
It definitely FEELS like a first game from a new developer. They had a million good ideas, but couldn't make time to really make good use of all of them.
Much of it is a murder mystery (with interrogations), which is rather solid. Some of the voice acting is a little rough-hewn, and parts of how dialogue/plot plays out feels either obvious and heavy-handed, or a bit amateur. The majority, however, is extremely servicable, and downright good at times.
The mystery part of it is great -- it was 100% unpredictable and honestly, a real challenge to figure out. I got it on the first try, but really only because I save-scummed a couple times in important conversations to see how dialogue/actions would play out if I said X or Y. You have to REALLY pay attention to the small stuff.
My only real complaint about the murder mystery is that it went by too fast. I wanted more time to hunt for clues, get to know the characters, and piece details together.
There IS fighting in this game -- extremely basic FPS stuff (with a way overcomplicated item management system). It's just extremely scant, and actually almost 100% avoidable. The devs put all this work into this FPS system, and had you go through basically two sets of tutorials on how to do it, and then they butter you up by saying that "oh wow you're going into something REALLY dangerous!! You're gonna need these skills!!!" ... And then the episode ends.
I get that there will be another episode, hopefully, someday, but TBH it would have been REALLY nice if the devs had tossed in one big battle at the end to make the FPS tutorial stuff worth your time.
All the negative stuff aside, I recommend the game (if it is <$10) ... If only because of how extremely DIFFERENT it is. I've played a lot of games that it had elements of, but I've never played a game that had this particular combo of elements.
