Mastery Achievement does not unlock
I just passed over 14 million points in mastery score while playing No Luca No, and 14m ach isn't unlocked, while during that session 1.5k and 2k kills in that mode unlocked successfully.

EDIT: It just triggered after beating previously skipped light sword level in Grandmaster campaign mode.

Here's a tip since you're after Mastery points - the game only accumulates the highest score you got on each stage, this includes all 3 survival modes and the world map survival modes as well.

So don't bother "farming" points in survival, in case you had that in mind.

Any tips for the survival modes...? Particularly No Luca No, I was stopped at 2406 kills.

Skills-wise, for starters, you want to go full defense, so that means:
- Deflect color
- Deflect grey
- Heal

Now, to reduce any further danger with complex enemies ganging up on you, take Grey out as well.
Your last skill is up to you, I prefer throw weapon, it slows down the enemies (like iron fist does) and allows you to take out multiple enemies that could be fatal at some points.

As for gameplay..
I did it only with the mouse, but in a hindsight I figured that it is probably best to use the keyboard to attack with one hand, and use the other on the mouse whenever the cat pops.
Unless you have a gamepad which I hear you can move Luca away with the right stick.

Try to create a fixed "timing" in your mind to move the cursor a bit, more or less when you expect the cat to pop, so it won't surprise you.
Note that you can move the cursor in ANY direction just slightly in order to move Luca. So the cat can pop from the left, and you move it gently to the right and that will take care of it.

That's pretty much it, the build I gave you is the same build I used for 7k standard, 6k blind and 20k world map kills. The rest is up to you, good luck :)

Yeah, I was also thinking to go with the keyboard in the same manner, since its hard to move Luca and kill at the same time using just one hand at the same device.

I throwed out grey out skill some time ago, it was doing me more harm than being useful. I just can't follow the counter in the lower left corner, and action at the middle of the screen at the same time, so I can't prepare myself in time for the opponents going grey. Happened to me million times that I have already precalculated moves for the oncoming colored enemy, and he just turns out grey, gets killed with one punch, while I was already mashing 2 or 3 hits, which causes me to miss nad be punched in the face. In the end, I figured out its easier to deal with the colours than with this, and it was replaced with deflect colour.

Grey out is extremely useful, I recommend mastering the required multi-tasking, or "sudden" change for better survival. Light 'em up can act as a replacement for "safe" 10 seconds.

But honestly, 10 seconds of only grey enemies is much better, and advances you faster into the next bonus round.

This curent build seems to be working, i'm revisiting old student survival rounds, of which some I skipped in the past, and I'm about to reach 10k kills with all 5 HP left. Seems to me like I can keep this up forever (campaign survival is apparently far easier, despite having only 5 HPs). I have over 1 million points atm, and some 300k from reaching 2 mastery achieves in this round. Apparently, they seem to be bugged, and I'm worried it will skip 15 m ach, and unlock only 16m if I keep this up. Even you have unlocked 19m after 20m.

Edit: Well, F**K ME! I accidentally reached 2 mastery achieves, for the whole 25k points, and I skipped 15m and only unlocked 16m... Any advice how to recover missing achievement? Unless devs are still supporting this game, and they fix it like they did with bugged medal achieves.

Yes, since it was done legit just use SAM. I'm not ashamed to admit that I use it on bugged achievements. I often record myself anyway for hardcore stuff.
Renner Aug 10, 2014 @ 7:46am
Yeah, I suspected that was the case. LOL, dev was seen online last time 114 days ago... They will probably never fix it, so it seems that SAM is the only choice, even though I pledged to never use it, even on broken achieves...

Actually, if someone has a save with pre-15 mill points, I could use it... There's still hope, I have friends who are yet to play this, and some of them are ach hunters as well.

Maybe the problem is that the game add the points when the mission ends, and if you get 2 millions in one mission and your score go from 14 millions to 16 millions (or any scores) the game see that you have more than 16 millions and give you the achievement for 16 but didn't check if you have previous achievement.

If you don't want to use SAM, maybe you could edit your save, found your 2 millions score and change it to 1 million then play one mission to see if you get the achievement, then edit your save again to have your original score.
