split screen player 2 spell book?

I don't seam to be able to open player twos spellbook.
Playing with two controllers, and both of them, open player ones spellbook.
Is there a different button i need to push?

Fairly certain it just uses the same spellbook for both characters.

ok, that would be fine.
but player 2 all ways uses wind push, we can't seem to get player 2 to use hurricane.
when we change from wind push to hurricane in the spellbook it only effects player 1.
the spell book also has player 1s name on it, so I thought there might be two books.
