New Cheat Reporting System
Hi guys,

Up until now, most people have been reporting cheating/expoiting/griefing/etc directly to me, which takes up rather more of my time than I would like. To focus more on development, I've implemented a new report system, which will be progressively enabled in the next few days. Anyone who has played CSGO and knows about the overwatch system, should see some similarities. It allows the community to maintain and moderate itself.

If you feel someone is cheating/exploiting/being-abusive, there is now the option in the sub-menu to report them. These reports will be uploaded along with a game demo that shows the last few minutes of your play.

These reports are then distributed to experienced members of the community (termed 'investigators'), who can pass judgement on them. Based on the majority ruling of a collection of investigators, bans can be issued as punishment. The duration of the bans is proportional to the severity of the offence and the reported players previous history, ranging from a couple of hours to permanent bans.

Investigators are currently chosen based on their experience with the game and their report history.

If you wish to appeal any judgements, you can email me at infinitus@zombiegrinder.com with your steam-id.

Be aware that this system is in addition to VAC, not instead of it.

With luck none of this actually gets used, as we tend to have a pretty good community :).

I just want to know. These guys with what seems to be bots. As in they have another with the same name only with a "(1)" after it, and the server info only counts the two as one player.

Are they illegally using bot scripts or is it some trial thing?

Also the fact that one easily (and quickly) spawned me in a random dungean where as the others who joined later never-ever spawed. impys it has some dire consequinces.

I know In Primal Carnage 2 there where many boters for drop exploits. Though I have not played that in a while

that's great, very good idea.

However, I think it will be a little hard to find such hackers, they can simply open a private room and no one will find out.

Yeah I think it might be players in "local co-op"
though It might make more sence if they where named "Account name" "(Character name)"
But for this whole mechanism the devs should consider character transfer potential.

Regardless is seems quite plausable that one could easily script a "local coop" bot, though That would (or SHOULD) not up drop rate.

P.S. I think steam item drop rate is too high

Players with (x) after there name are indeed local coop players. We choose to name users after their steam-id not their character name so they can be easily identified/reported/friended/etc.

And I'm sure people could create bots or cheat in local games. This system is primarily for those that ruin online experiences, I'm not particularly worried with what people do locally.

oh, ok
haha

but Infinitus, I think the main reason for someone to want to cheat in the game, must be to be among the first in the global Scores.

it would be better to save those Scores only for players playing on official servers, no ?

I believe that in this way will reduce (if any) any cheating while filling the official servers.
