Bug report ! Crashes and issues (oculus rift, Hydra) [16Feb2014] v1.04
Bonjour,
I was looking forward to have agreat experience, but things did not go as planned...

-Oculus Rift :
I use 3 screens display in surround and the oculus in on a display Cloner box. (my middle screen is cloned to the rift)
When selecting "enable rift" in options : Crash :
Crash report folder made everytime, I can send them to you if you wish. (or paste content here)

(always the same crash)
TEMP FIX >> using Crl+Shift+L works fine. (it takes a little time, like 15sec freeze)
Going back to no rift and rift again crashes. (so it's once per game launch to be able to play)

-aim :
When in Rift mode, the menu reticle is on the far edge left side of the screen stuck (Pressing "R" doesnt center the rift, but not the reticle)
So basicaly I cannot navigate the menu at all in rift mode ( I nearly have to turn my head 90degre to have it where I want.
TEMP FIX >> switching to rift inside a game mode works...

-Razer Hydra.
Calibration !
Hand to shoulder :
-Left hand is turned 90 degre to the right (palm down, bow is horizontal) but my Real hand is thumb is backward holding the controler, knukles up. (my wrist is along the arm, "punch the sky")
So to hold the bow while aiming my hand is palm up holding the controler to have a vertial bow.
Not good at all.
-Right hand is kinda okay, but a little off setted in rotation also (maybe 35 degre) to much to the right.
>> Can't play like this using hydra.

I hope this bug reports help, let me know if you want my crash dumps or sceen grabs of the calibration.

I look forward to play !

Ol

Thanks for the comprehensive info!

For the next update I'll be updating the Steamworks integration to use Valve's new VR features so Oculus Rift should be detected and enabled by default if you're running Steam in VR mode. Surrounding this I'll also try to identify and fix this issues you're having.

I'm planning on adding some additional Hydra calibration options to tweak orientations. In the mean time if your hands are oriented "correctly" as per the calibration image (left hand at left shoulder, right hand at right shoulder, Hydras pointed towards neck/face) when hitting 1 or 2, it should be fine. If not, try turning your wrists to different angles to account for the offset.

Thank you for your reply,

Hydra :
I retired, can't get the calibration to work, still the same orientation.
-with the same position as the image
-in "Tuscany calibration pose"
I have the same result.
Even with simplified rift and alternate control, tried it all.
Still 90d on the left and 35 on the right.

I look forward to the next patch then. (or to a PrioVR version...)
If you want me to test some things in -beta before release, I'll be glad to help.
