I have a niece who is almost 5...
She has a very basic understanding of spelling. I can't seem to judge from the videos on the store page whether or not she'd enjoy this game. She doesn't know what all letters look or sound like, at least on her own. For example, I'd have to tell her "T" has a "ta" sound. Are the levels timed in any way? If she can take her time after I help her to realize what she needs to look for, then I could see this game being fun for her.

She loves video games and she's very good at fighting games (she actually beats me occasionally) and some platformers, but I would really like to mix in something educational, instead of just Street Fighter, lol.

Hi! I'm a dev that worked on Squirt's Adventure.

We specifically designed the game to be an enjoyable experience for kids to learn in a pressure-free environment. Kids can answer incorrectly, but they're not penalized (aside from their Star Ranking at the end of the level.). We found this led to more experimentation and a better learning experience, which is what we're after.

You asked about phonetic sounds, we don't cover those in the game at the moment. If we get enough interest, we'd be happy to add them in a future update.

makaspaka please youtube my videos on pc genius i have put up all of 800 plus videos on this software for kids and even have a downloadable version if your willing to split your games up with more of the learning educational style.

I dont want this to mislead mattscott but i do want it to be known that this game as good as it could be seems to have its limits on the way its pesented.

How Many other rooms are there other from those displayed in the video ie other type of challenges ? or was this just a mobile app thats been imported to pc ?..

Thanks, that's pretty much exactly what I needed to know. My sister and I can help her with the sounds if there's no time constraints. This would probably be a good way for her to start actually associating letters with their specific sounds. I think I'm definitely going to buy this when she comes to visit in a couple days.
