It is called false marketing. It was a swift deceisive decision by making this game cost money. They tricked into voting and they got free marketing.

FREE with NO DRM! Optional paid version with Bonus Materials for supporters!
That's right, the game is free with no DRM! And due to very encouraging feedback we'll also open a pay option with some extras as a Thank You!

No false advertising, the game has been freely available from our website for two months now on the bottom - http://postmortemgame.com/download . The Steam Store page also mentions that.

However, due to a lot of positive feedback and encouragement from testers and press, we did decide to add a paid "Extended Cut" with some bonuses to those who would like to support your fellow indie devs :)

In the end that's all I put on Steam since the base game is DRM free on our site already. The last point on our Greenlight Page explained that. Sorry if this caused a bit of confusion!

That's a great decision and fully support it. Grats!

So the non-extended cut is not an official Steam game?
Koobazaur  [udvikler] 10. dec. 2013 kl. 16:46
Yes, but you can grab it free from our site and add it to your steam library pretty easily :)
The_Hunted_One 12. dec. 2013 kl. 12:49
So why not add the FTP version to steam as well?

This is what was originally promised, why isn't it happening?

Straight from the Greenlight page: "FREE with NO DRM!"

You may recall that Steam is a DRM service, meaning the free version was always intended to bypass that.

You're getting exactly what was promised, so you can stop misinterpreting people and projecting blame.

How about you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ do the SLIGHTEST bit of research before making claims like "False marketing" and calling this company out.

There is a free version available at http://postmortemgame.com/download/

The one on steam is an extended version.

You can also buy it for as little as 1.50 on that site, as they have a "Pay what you can" system.

Cheapos gonna cheapo.

Stop whining because the one available on Steam isn't free.
