I would consider this game effectively dead. The developer's website has had no activity since May of this year (and that was regarding his "next game"). The twitter is active, but filled with pseudo-philosophical musings. $2 is not much to be burned over, but I would not expect any substantive changes to this product.
Still, a save game would make things easier.
