NOT FUN!!!! splitting spiders makes the game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
well after around 200 (no ♥♥♥♥ there about) tries on getting pass the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ splitting spiders in the very last mission with a drop rate of usefull rocket launcher of every 20+ game;

i am too tired of this game more, i dont like playing half made games -.-
and i dont enjoy having to spend hours upon hours trying to unlock ♥♥♥♥ which i should have had from the very first second to enjoy the game in the mode that i wanted to play instead of having to play a mode which i find no fun at all -.-

used 12 hours on unlocking now and still needed the last stuff -.-

I do think they're poorly designed in relation to the rest of the game. The extreme spikes in difficulty are at 2.10 and 6.10, and both for the same reason. Nothing else in the game remotely compares.

They break the game in several ways. They force you to use certain weapons, otherwise you immediately need to hit restart as there's no chance in trying. Trying to get to power ups is a matter of luck as there are going to be swarms on the ones that do show up. There's no good way to prioritize targets as the ones catching up to you are only going to multiply if you hit them making the situation worse. They can both outrun and surround you effortlessly, making it futile to try and maneuver them and just hope for a lucky break. It just starts becoming an exercise in frustration as you continually hope for random chance to get you through it as they're going to swarm you otherwise.

Yes, there is some element of "luck" in Crimsonland and it's always been this way. Can you not even beat the last mission on normal? Stop spamming the discussion board and creating new topics just so you can whine about the fact that you suck at this game.

6.10 on grim difficulty is the last to grant a weapon.

Ah, didn't realize this. I like the sadistic difficulty, personally..

Still not an excuse for the poor design of the spideroids.

Agree.

The spideroids level should be the final level tbh, most annoying enemies ever! You can't even kite them easily because they surround you instantly.... I'm so stuck on Grim diffculty on this it's not even fun anymore... I did manage to kill them all once but that was with Death Clock so you die in the end.

I managed to beat 2.10 with the "No Scratch" achievement. It took me around couple dozen tries though.

What I did was to use single fire weapons and break the big spider first, then focus in one half and then all the other halves and leave that first big halve for last, this way you dont get overrun and multiply too much.

Oh and get to one side of the screen, in a corner, then let them get really close and then move to the top/bottom corner of that side, etc... all while killing the smallest spiders first and avoiding breaking the big ones.

There are spideroids in the final level.

Plus other boss monsters to keep them company.

Other boss monsters help to kill spideroids in some way. And killing spideroids score so low that even you enable perks in Quest mode you will not get one in a short time:(

Stuck on 2.10 Hardcore. I'm starting to think I'll need another player to even get remotely close to passing it.

The problem is I can't even get to the pickups because I'm constantly running backwards and they fill the entire screen pretty quickly.

EDIT: Nevermind. Finally did it with rocket minigun. I am extremely satisfied.

Now you understand the point of extreme difficulty?)

I've just finished 6.10 grim. It took me couple of dozen tries. The key is zombies. This is where you can try to pick up powerup. I won it with plasma shotgun, with the help of fire bullets of course.

Well done to you. :)

That's the only level still standing between me and the splitter gun. Getting mighty tempting to enable perks, I'll admit.

The game is easy... GEMBINE part of it is hard.....

And for those QQing on the difficulty -> activate Perks in storymode. That way you can fiddle around a bit (and it will help - especially on those nasty spiders).
