JAPANESE USERS CAN CHANGE THE SKIN COLOR. WE CAN'T.

I'm both excited and completely disappointed due to this.
Any thoughs on this/when we might get this feature?
Maybe an administrator could hint us in?

Dunno who told you the JP version can change the skin color. Can confirm that it cannot, though since the skintone on the characters is by and large one solid color (RGB 255 233 218) it's quite simple to alter.

If you check comipo-fc.deviantart.com , there is a post updating us English users on the fact that Japanese users can now change skin color.

Ah, fair enough, haven't been on DA today so I hadn't seen that yet. Time to update I guess.

As for the timeline, the admins are basically never here and they dont develop the program, so an official ETA is unlikely. The update schedule for the English version is pretty random, sometimes it can be ages and sometimes as little as a few weeks. Precedent on software updates says the wait time will probably be about a year though, they need to catch up on some other features like the 2D skew feature first.

I am glad they put it in but they should be working to get all the versions up to date with the Japanese version and then releasing all the farther updates at the same time. As Spectre said it's most likely roughly a year but there are still updates we don't have yet before this newest one.

On top of that there are 4 bonus contents ( Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Bicycle ) that they aren't even trying to convert for English users yet because, as I was told by customer service when I requested an ETA on those, they are focusing on code updates. The Horse content was released in Japan 3 years ago... 3! The Bicycle was released just recently. Don't hold your breath on any thing that Japan gets update wise.

We're lucky enough to even get Steam version... but then again, Japan products are mainly for their own use, it'd be unlikely we'd be treated the same. Even if we buy Comipo full price off their own site (Where they take all revenue), the costs for translation and update maintenance would still be higher.

Now, the bigger question is -- how soon will that update be? Hopefully when they say "soon", they don't mean a month.

I can see that Steam version is gonna get different update than Japanese version, unless there are more to come. Since this is a combination of two updates, 3.05 (major) and 3.00 (minor, the GIF feature).

Well we've been stuck at 2.50 for so long, there's a chance that we will jump directly to 3.05, but it's quite unlikely. Still, I don't mind getting skin color option first (the deforming tool, new panel shape / speech bubble and new color option can wait)

Just double check, it's actually 2.50.03 (I got confused when looking up the JP site). Yep, definitely long way to go until we can catch up
