Getting Started with Cloudbuilt!
Hey guys,

My names Samuel (Spoonparty) and I'm the community maganer at Rising Star Games. I can't tell you how excited we are that Cloudbuilt is now launched and players from all around the world are starting to check it out!

The developer Coilworks are already hard at work making tweaks to improve your gaming experience. You can expect a mini-update very soon which will correct some minor issues in the leaderboards and also some texture improvements.

Following this, they'll be here to support anyone having difficulty running the game. These guys are hugely dedicated so hold tight!

Once you're ready, here are a few tips to help you get started with Cloudbuilt:

-Don’t feel rushed by the in-game stopwatch. While the game is competitive, take your time and explore the level. Learn its geography and get accustomed to your surroundings and potential hazards.
-If you’re having a hard time navigating your way around a level, try looking for alternate means for which to get from point A to point B.
-If you're struggling on one level in particular, there will always be several other levels available in the branching storyline. Never feel restricted to just one path.
-Story entries are stored on your computer in the room.
-Want to see Cloudbuilt in its full beauty? Ctrl+Alt+H will toggle on/off your HUD
-After completing 3 levels, you will unlock the Practice mode on the level selection screen. This sandbox level is perfect for trying new things and mastering the mechanics.
-Hit 'R' to restart from Checkpoint and 'L' to restart the Level
-'Tab' will change the side of your camera

We hope you all have a great time with Cloudbuilt!

Hello. How are you? Hopefully rather well. I have seen couple of footages of your game, and I quite like it. However, I have been stung lately by lots of developers and publishers with their malicious practices. It's been a while since I bought anything on Steam since being stung by THIEF's locked challenge map contents that charges you 4.99 USD to unlock it in the challenge mode, yet the map already exists within the main campaign. There're a lot of developers and publishers, both AAA and Indie, are going the same route to increase their revenue. Even if a game is on sale for 3.99 USD from its original price like 50 USD, I do not buy it whatsoever, if it contains any sort of locked-content. So, I'll ask you this, and please don't spin it with PR talk like most indie developers have been doing lately. Does your game have locked-content and microtransactions? There is a huge difference between legit DLC that took months and work to create post-launch due to fan demands, and the wretched locked-content.
I hope you answer that question with honesty, as I'm honest to you. Lots of indie developers say: There are no plans of locked-content and microtransactions, as of yet. Hmmm... emphasis on "AS OF YET", that doesn't sound good at all.

Since Steam does not enable me to get refunds from false advertised products, I need to ensure that I'm a buying a legit 100% game.

You can delete this post if you want; seems most developers and publishers do that, and even go far to report Twitter accounts to have them closed. But, it's my right as a consumer to investigate before spending a dime.

No, we do not currently have any extra content you can pay for in the game. We hope to be able to develop future content, but we also hope to continue to support the base game and patch/improve it even if we start developing additional content.

We do not have any plans what so ever to add any form of microtransactions to the game, as we don’t want players to have to think about money while playing.

Okay thank you. That puts me at ease. I have to be wary as a consumer of my surroundings.
Then, I hope your game grows and for you to remain genuine to the concept of traditional gaming and its practices, and to stay loyal to your fans, as they are loyal to you. Hopefully, one day, there will be enough demand and requests to have you develop legit DLC.

Microtransactions&Locked-Content, are in every corner and they're ruining the industry.

I really love this game, and I bought it in the first week, but boy do I suck at it.
In the 3th level I just keep getting shot
It's one of those games I can still enjoy without making any noticable progress.

I will try to unlock practice mode, but even this is a challenge. If you got any more tips, please share them here :)

Could you add a patch that would bring the change TO NOT ANY BUTTON SKIP THE ANIMATIONS? I want to take screenshot and this is making this hard... Please ;-;

Sorry, I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but It doesn't sound too complicated... if you can explain it a little more, I'll probably add it to the roadmap:

First of all, thank you for replying so fast! I must confess that I thought that my message was going to pass unnoticed xD

Well, It's not a big issue at all... Don't deviate from the fixes, or anything else, that you may be working because of me. Is just that when you press any button the cinematic will be cut, I would like to be changed.
Like when the camera is showing the level from afar on the beginning, if you try to take a screenshot from that angle of the cam is currently showing, the animation will be cut without warning.
I understand that this a game where the player must go fast, but I would like that, to cut the cinematics only when I really intended to do so. As like when I tried to take a screenshot of her face while she was on the bed, and the animation was cut without me expecting it to be.

I had the same "issue" with Hard Reset (is it ok to mention another game in another game's board? If not, I am sorry), I had the same "issue" there. When the character said something that I liked, or just teh art to be appealing to me, and I wanted to show it to a friend "Look how this is haha" but the animation was cut before ending.

I am sorry if I do not make sense or if I sounded rude. Wasn't my intention at all. My English is poor I've learned just a bit playing game, so, forgive me, please don't ban me ):

In sum, i was trying to ask to change teh current "any button skips cinematics" to "a certain buttom don't" or "a certain button do".

Thank you for making such a wonderful and beautiful game.

OH, don't worry! You've done nothing weird or bad xD

And yeah, that sounds like something we could add as an option pretty easily... and we could probably try to always make the print screen and F12 button don’t skip stuff.

I’ll add it to the road map :)

And thanks or the compliments ^^ Glad you like the game!

omfg. finally some good devs out there

don't add damn dlcs or whatsoever, there are too much of them. i just bought this game and played it for a bit more than a hour and i kinda liked it, unlike all the other crap games today. was amazed to get some skin colors to unlock by in game completions rather than damn dlcs or microtransactions. the "standalone" game that just has everything in itself is the best. that'd be a deception to have dlcs and all

no no no, dont hardcode a blacklist of buttons, only make a whitelist of EXISTING controls for skipping (movement keys, shoot, jump, escape, enter)

my screenshot & video keys are keypad * & / for example... not to mention my overlay is numlock

reminds me.. i told edmund to do this for super meat boy at launch so i could take screenshots of the cutscenes, maybe i should bug him some more to implement it

Hey Taciter, great to have you aboard! Coilworks are the real heroes behind the game :) They've done an excellent job on the DLC too. I will have to add a video to showcase its beauty later today.

Take care, buddy :)
