I think valve are aware of the issue and has some grand plans for the future, but it might still be years off...

Please feel free to help out and give your opinion on the changes or tell us what you would like to see. (Though there are of course some limitations to what we can do)
I never actually knew about this game until early July. I would have been playing it much earlier otherwise. This game needs more coverage.
I also heard it got pushed off the store front page in a single day by shovelware on its release date. While steam is a great place for exposure for new developers, it still has its drawbacks.
Well the way I found out about it was through TB's video on it. If it hadn't been for that I most likely never would have heard of this game, ever. Damn shame that would have been.
I can't imagine trying to publish a game with that little support. Its a good thing for game review sites and game reviewers on youtube.
Regarding if anyone was playing the game before launch. There were no publicly available version of the game, but we brought it to some expos and similar, and sent out a preview and review copy to press. Other than that, the only speedrunner that played it a little bit before release was Ogam. But that was an incomplete version of the game, and several maps had changes made to them after that.
No one played the game outside of the office for the first year of production of Cloudbuilt... not even during the first year since the announcement trailer almost.
It's still fun to watch the old announcement video xD the difference between now and then is pretty large... but it's still surprisingly similar in some ways...

Can we get an option to turn on the old sound effects? They sound hilarious, and I love the deep "Oh god something just exploded" sound to the boosts.
hahah, such a peronnalized answer. will try that thanks
Wasn't it so that if you already have a game on Steam you can just put your next games on it without going through greenlight?
There have been a couple of instances where developers had to go through Greenlight again despite having a game up in the store anyway, but that was in the case where the publisher changed, e.g. the Alltynex Trilogy that wasn't published through Capcom (which Nyu Media usually used) or Trails in the Sky that wasn't published through Xseed (which Falcom usually used)
As long as Coilworks stick to the same publisher in case of a second game, they shouldn't have to go through Greenlight again.
