[PSA] Crimson Court DLC : Existing Saves and Mods

Hello Everyone

I'm sure you're all super excited to experience the new DLC content. This is just a quick PSA concerning your existing saves, and mods.

Do Not Use Mods With The Crimson Court

Mods will be very very broken.

We recommend you disable all mods if you want to use the Crimson Court DLC. This will give mod creators time to get their mods up to speed and compatible with the Crimson Court.

Existing Saves Can Upgrade To the Crimson Court With Caveats

You can upgrade an existing save to incorporate the Crimson Court DLC. So if you've got an existing save, you can enable the Crimson Court DLC and it will work. BUT

a) As stated above mods are very very broken so don't upgrade a save file that has mods enabled!!
b) You cannot downgrade a save once upgraded! So if you went "whoops enabed the dlc and my mods are messed up" you can't then disable the DLC on that save!

If you want to upgrade an existing save, ensure you're running the game 'vanilla' with no mods.

Wow i wish i'd seen this before messing up both my saves. I mean it sounds like they're screwed since i activated the dlc with mods active on both. Of course loading the games just caused me to crash.

Wow, why didn't you guys push this info out prior to game launch? FAIL. I now have a ton of wasted time due to my main game being screwed now. Won't spend anymore of my money with Red Hook, that's a promise.

Блин, разработчики, наверно цену на dlc надо было раньше устанавливать? А то оно висело как бесплатное, а на выходе оказывается платным. Думал сегодня засесть, а нет, придётся до завтра ждать, так как денег на steam положить возможности сейчас нет, у меня ночь уже.

I mean if you have any experience with games with mod support who push out later dlcs you know too wait for mods to be updated before hand.

It's a good idea with these upgrades, but I would like to understand it to the end - in the next few days I will buy DLC, I have two main saves, one completed game and the other roughly 30%...

I understand that after buying a DLC I can earn some more achievements on the main, like 'Restored to its former glory...' or 'Two years of this...' and then just click some magical button and move to the vampires?

My saves will not automatically switch to version with Flagellant, Fanatic etc.?

Started a new game about 3 days in and I needed to exit the game so I selected quit to desktop and when i loaded it again the SAVE was GONE.

Yeah the great problem here is that this update destroyed mods even for darkest dungeon versions without the DLC...
