The most annoying part is that, since the Birdie gets 3 turns a round, Debuffs and Marks just melt off it. So the fight seems, to me, either be full luck based or one being on full time Mark/Debuff duty (and then it is luck based with only three Heroes to deal actual damage with).
But, since Shrieker is not required for anything sans an Achievement, I just enjoy the free Trapezes.
It could be worth it if you lost an extremely crucial Expedition (You shouldnt be losing entire expeditions, either. Unless you're in The Darkest Dungeon, where you have an excuse.) and didn't manage to get your Trinkets back or they were extremely hard-to-get like Shuffling Horror Trinkets, as The Shrieker takes, I believe, eight Trinkets from the dead.
It might also be worth doing it if you're a completionist and want the achievment, but aside from those two things (Both of which don't harm your game in any way, shape, or form) there's really no reason to fight it.
1) It gives out a really nice trinket and
2) It gives a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of money when it dies.
This is the easiest boss in the game. If you're not trying to crack the nest, there's literally no challenge. But I didn't find that too hard either. Simply slot a robber, wolf, or hellion, who can all hit any slot, and they will crack the nest in no time. The trick is managing this with the bird attacking you. 1 man at arms spamming bolster is highly recommended. A guard is helpful if one hero gets too weak. The man at arms can be put in the back without consequence because he will not attack in the fight.
I doubt they'd count in game hours. There are probably people who memorize enemy attack patterns and their favorite positions and just run through everything without stopping.
You didn't hear that from me though ;)
And thus, the cementary grows bigger than ever all of sudden.
