It wouldn't take anything away from it being awesome. On the contrary a lot more people would try it if it had them, so there's literally no negatives to adding them. If you don't like them, you can ignore them plain and simple.
I still hope that Tex adds these. They are a great tool and incentive to buy. I know that nowadays during Steam sales, I only buy games that have the cards available. It is definitely my barameter for buying games I am on the fence about. I know that a lot of other gamers are the same way.
