Does this game work on Windows 8?

I've been meaning to buy this game for some time now, but I'm worried that it won't work on my Inspirion which runs on Windows 8.

Yes! This game will play on Windows 8 but you must download the patch recommended by Sharky. He made one of the best guides to install a patch ive ever seen. He makes it real easy and explains everything. He explained why the patch doesnt initially work on Windows 8. Its too new of a program for the game. The game will work if you follow his directions but you must pay attention to every detail he wrote in the guide. :)

Yes Swift that's the one. I run it on Windows 8 no problem. Just download wesp5s unofficial patch.

Works fine in Windows 7 without the need for a work around. Just make sure you download the Wesp5 unofficial patch and point it to your Steam directory for the game.

In Windows 8, there's no option to disable visual themes or desktop composition. :|

I bought this game months ago and still can't figure it out for windows 8. It's really rather annoying considering i paid for it and can;t seem to figure it out. i have the "can't find steam" error and have to do the complex fix option. for some reason, my computer doesn't have the path opiontion in the list of user variables like it says. so i literally can't fix this. anyone have any ideas?

.... Okay so for spits and giggles i just tried to play the game.... and it worked. WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THIS GAME?!?!?!?!?!? Try running it with admin permissions on both steam and the game it self. restart comp after giving it the permissions and then try running the game again.

You need Wesp5's latest unofficial patch, I don't remember which one that is though.

i believe it was 8.6
i persoanlly didn;t need the patch but it made it look alot nicer. Also make sure to run both steam and the game with admin permissions.
