Steamworks stuff (achievements and/or more)
Hi,

Standard question, i thought it's yes but since they are not there for the release, i dunno. Will you put some achievements in the game or it's finally not intended ? And if intended, will they be retroactive ?

Anyway, well done for your release on Steam ;) I'll not ask you about Steam keys on Humble Bundle (previous pre-orders) since we all know the answer :closetgamer:.

We are looking into it, but we just wanted to get the game out there for everyone who was waiting. I'm not sure if achievements will be retro-active or not yet...
Oh, and people who got the game on humble should be getting steam keys soon.

achivevements are way over rated... people that only play games to ffex there eonline ego are missing the whole point in gaming... I would say no just based on princebles alone

Your're missing what achievements are then. I don't give a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ about my "ego". Achievements are nice to play a bit longer a game to do some interesting challenges you may have missed. I don't speak about boring achievements ofc... There's a lot of games with interesting and fun achievements.

And btw, if i'm asking it, it's not because i want them especially. i just want to play this game when it'll be complete. Since it's a one-way adventure, i'm not sure i'll play it a second time so... If there'll be achievements, i'll wait them, simply.

Thanks for the answer AckkStudios btw. i'll be able to gift the key i bought as promise then, since i won a deluxe key on your FB page :FastFood:.

I like achievements. I'm not the kind of people who do 100% achievements of every game, but I like them because there are some pretty cool challenges.
Valdis Story has good achievements about scoring and timing, that's cool.

There are Achievements and Achievements. Do not compare with achievements you are obliged to obtain (like the achievements in The Walking Dead).

If there is interest (which there seems to be) we'll start to implement them.
If anyone has any ideas for some, feel free to post them.

I didn't play the game much yet but if you're going to implement achievements, some classic advices :
  • Don't do achievements where you've 100% chance to get it, or not too much. A lot of games put achievements which are just : finish act 1, etc. At least if you put some achievements like that for each color fragment for instance, don't do just that. You can put one when we complete the game too it's okay.
  • Try to find some challenges available in the game. I didn't play it enough so i dunno what's possible. But if there's some hard stuff to do like finding all the secrets or stuff/weapons we can get, etc.
  • Fun stuff, like beating a boss with a particular weapon appropriated, dunno.
It's hard to tell for me but i'm sure some guys will find some cool stuff you could implement related to what we can do in the game, apart of the completionism aspect.

We're not that much too, so if you decide to not implement achievements that's cool too. Personally i just need to know the game is trully complete to start playing it.
