Just too many bugs...
I really wanted to embrace this game in all it's quirky weirdness and retro Gameboy aesthetic... but this just feels unfinished and rushed. I'm beginning to see why the game auto-saves every time you enter a door, because every time you enter a new area you have a 50/50 chance of encountering a game-ending bug or weird glitch. I'm not exaggerating here, I just finished the first dungeon a few hours in and already I've had to escape out of the game and restart roughly ten times due to random bugs. For now, I'm just going to put it on the shelf and hope the author will make good and fix it up to a playable state so I can come back to it someday.

The consistent reports like this are making me wait to buy this. The devs are aware of the problems, so hopefully they will follow through.

Yeah its a complete mess, worst part is though that they're already trying to hype up their next game on twitter. Fixing this should be their number one priority, I won't be touching anything they release in the future until this is sorted and even then I'll wait for a few reviews.

Dammit... Wish I looked into this game before I bought it... I was hoping that I was the only one with problems, but it seems pretty consistent through the threads that most people are. It's a shame, too; this game seems to have a ton of potential.

These problems will be fixed don't let a few bugs ruin a great RPG

It's weird becuase some people are having bugs and others aren't... I wonder how they track something like that?

I won't let it ruin it. Which is why I'll buy it when the bugs are reported to be fixed or much improved, and not before.

Hey guys! So we have a new build out that fixes the stalling issue that Windows 8 seemed to get. We're activating polishing and fixing the game so if you run across a specific bug please report it to support@ackkstudios and we'll add it to the list for the January update!

As of now though, the game is reportedly running smooth with the exception of some issues that seem to be hardware dependent on some older machines.

Most awaited game of the year and I can't even start the game or get trapped by some glitch...not to mention no real controller support. What a shame. :-[

@Mostly Harmless can you send a description of the issue to contact.ackk@gmail.com?
I want to figure out what's happen specifically with you can get it fixed ASAP. A lot of people have beaten the game without major grief, so I'll need some specifics to investigate it.

not sure about that most of us got in the habbit of backing up the save file ever 30 mins....

That's disturbing. Well, I'm looking in to it. If you have a save file issue please shoot me and email and let me know where it happens so I can try and figure out what's happening. :/

no save file issue per-say.. The biggest issue I had was the fear of getitng teliported back into a out of map exprinces.. or a black screen.... ect,,,

number 1 rule for playing this game. backup, backup, backup

if your on windows 8+, it made it even easier then ever. Start (type File History) Enable it., set backup ever 10 mins.... your good to go...LMAO

The biggest issue I was having (and continue to have after the patch) is the getting "stuck" when talking to NPCs. The dialog would just keep looping over and over and there was no way to back out of it. It seems to happen randomly, when talking to any NPC in the game. The specific bug can be seen on one of the other threads in this forum where someone posted a youtube review of the game (I think the thread was titled "WTF is wrong with this game?") Other than that... just wieird glitches. I would enter a room in a dungeon and be unable to interact with anything (i.e. unable to push blocks that were clearly pushable, etc.). Leaving the room and re-entering would usually fix it, but sometimes I would be unaware that the glitch had happened and I would be wondering why I couldn't figure out how to get through the room before finally realizing that it was glitched. Also, when leaving the first dungeon it cuts to a scene where you ride a giant turtle back to the mainland. That glitched out on me, the music played but the screen remained frozen.

I realize that the fact that the game saves at every doorway prevents you from losing much progress due to these bugs... but it just got ridiculous dealing with that many glitches after such a short time with the game. I felt that I had been sold an unfinished product. I'm glad to see that the developers are still active with the game and trying to work out the bugs, but I just don't see how the game got released this way.

Wow, that's really crappy. What are the specs on your computer @MadDog?
I want to try and recreate these issues you're having. I know you're not lying or anything, but I haven't had them happen. I'll work hard to make your experience awesome!
