It has combat, among other things! It's up to you if you want to fight or just mine or trade or whatever :)

It's actually a fighting game. You don't have to trade at all if you don't want,

The trailer shows quite a bit of the game (including combat) :)

There are a number of career options, and you can jump between them as you wish, or combine them when you can.

Courier. Take stuff from one system to another, often with a time limit. All you need it your ship. Doesn't often involve combat, doesn't pay very well, good starter missions.

Miner. Shoot asteroids, collect the ore, get the ore processed at a mining station, sell the finished product there or somewhere that buys it for more. Your starter ship works just fine, but you'll want to upgrade to mining lasers and a cargo scoop at some point. Generally no risk. Moderate income.

Hired Gun. Go somewhere, shoot someone. Maybe bring something back. Enemies can be individuals or groups. You may want some weapons upgrades before you take on groups.

Bounty Hunter. Go to a system with a low safety rating, shoot bad guys to collect a bounty. Unlike the Hired Gun missions, you don't have to go looking for bad guys; they'll politely come to you, usually 3 at a time.

Pirate. Go find some fat merchants, shoot them, collect the cargo they drop. They aren't as powerful as the enemies in the previous missions, but other nearby ships might come to help defend your target.

Trading. Buy stuff where it's cheap, sell it where it's dear. Need some money to get started, but not a whole lot. Normally low risk.

I haven't played the game since we've had crafting, but there might be opportunities there to manufacture stuff and sell it at a profit.

Earlier versions of the game were balanced so that you'd eventually max out the money you could make shooting other ships and collecting dropped goods, and the only way to make more was trading. That is probably not the case currently.

Yeah but why is the game labeled as a space trading game then?
It brings a lot of confusing among potential buyers.
