When can the T/focus on target button be used?
I had targeted my station, and tried to use the T button, thinking it would let me focus on a friendly target. I think I remember it saying it couldn't do that because of something about targetting lock.

Is it only useable in combat? Seems like that'd be the one time the game wouldn't want you having an easy way to keep a target in the crosshairs.

When is T useful? What's the intended usage? Convenience? Getting a lock when you've lost it, enabling the player to quickly switch to a target that's behind them?

Trying to figure the game's wrinkles out. The manual doesn't appear to cover this...

Hey Poobah...there was a fairly recent change that made requiring target lock the default system for combat. There's also an alternative auto-aim system which fires weapons at your selected target regardless of whether you're looking at it. T is useful for snapping your view to your target if you have the auto-aim system on. If you'd like to try auto-aim, you can uncheck the "Require combat target lock-on" in Gameplay Options.

It's possible that the manual needs updated - we will take a look.

Thanks for the answer! I'll probably go with enabling auto-target.
