Is this game good?
Usually games that pop out of nowhere are terrible games. There are some rare cases where they can be good though. I want to know is this a good one? Is it truly as grand as the game advertising claims? A grand singleplayer EVE online like experience?

You could try the free demo, available at http://zigfrak.com.

I think it's a great game, but don't expect an "EVE Offline" experience (you might like X3 though if that's what you're looking for). Zigfrak is more like a space dogfighter mixed with Diablo mixed with an open world RPG.

Zigrak isn't a game. Zigfrak is games within games and games upon games.

Zigfrak is a state of mind. Zigfrak plays with YOUR state of mind more than once, don't believe me? two words : Cerulean Blue.

Zigfrak has Bear Grylls in it. You will make shoelace traps for Bear Grylls in Zigfrak.

Zigfrak has koolaid. You will serve koolaid in Zigfrak.

Zigfrak has as many guns as Borderlands 2 (maybe...). I have not found all the guns, I have not even found a fraction of the guns.

Zigfrak has big explosions. Explosions big enough to create nifty static effects and cause damage if you're dumb enough to stay too close to that which goes boom.

Zigfrak will melt your brain. Zigfrak has balls. Zigfrak has perfectly round and enormous balls.

Zigfrak will make you a pirate, a part of the mafia, a part of a police state, mad, sane, and everything in between.

And in between all this, you get to fly a ship and shoot things. You may even collect loot.

I played the demo and I'm on the fence for buying it. Once more of my cards sell and I break $5 on my steam wallet I'll probably pick this up. The combat in the demo (up to level 8 so far) seems very hectic and often I have no idea what the hell is going on, so I can see the appeal of getting a capital ship where you have to worry far less about acrobatic flying.

There's a lot of potential in this game, but I don't get the space flight simulator feel that I loved from games like Darkstar One and the Wing Commander series. But then, that may not be what this game is even going for given the 3rd person point of view.

If I didn't have this game, this Shakespearean post would drive me to buy it.
And actually, this is a 100% accurate synopsis of the game.

Sure Rail weapons blast away , Beam phase and burn, Pulse track targets while rocket either home in or torpedo against enemies. plus a heap of others.
Ships change and shape depending on how you game.
stealth introduces massive battles with yourself loot the helpless :P

If this isn't a review it should be. I just bought the game because this sounds too effed up to turn down. It's also the first game in my library to start with Z!

I got a coupon for it just now and before disregarding the coupon like I do for most because most of them are Serious Sam, or some lame Hillbilly's Hideaway pieces of crap, I figured I'd look at it becaue I liked the name.

That post certainly helped sell me on feeling something about the game, but I planned on buying it regardless after seeing some of the reviews (even the negative one with a very friendly response from the developer) and some of the things players have said about it. Like 3089: A futuristic Action RPG, I love to see developers that truly care about their games, and I can tell that this one does too from seeing a few posts and that is worth it to me to buy it. Especially since it is unique like 3089 is and I always want to give games like that a chance.

Far too many games just try to recapture soemthing else's magic (even in the Indie scene this is becoming more and more common) like Terraria, or Binding of Isaac, and they just can't do it. So when I see something completely different and original to me, with fans that love it enough to post about it in a poetic fashion, I find myself unable to say no.

This post has been approved by this guy--->

Picked this up yesterday and I think it's pretty damn good. Graphics are quite good, the tutorials are actually helpful, the missions keep you moving along from sector to sector, and the crazy loot explosions never get old. I have messed with the volume controls a bit but I still think the weapons and game sounds are a little muted, especially compared to the music. The main problem I'm having is that my OCD ♥♥♥ can't play for 5 minutes without checking my inventory to see if any goodies are better than what I have equipped. :P

This is more along the lines of Freelancer and the Starpoint Gemini games. Third-person action with less emphasis on 'simulation'. Personally, I love it! The battles do seem chaotic with all the weapon effects and crap swirling everywhere, but I soon realized much of the chaos was simply the graphics from the automatic loot collection. I've learned to tune this out and focus on the red arrows in my HUD to point me to the next enemy. Once all the enemies are down, I go back and mop up any loot that I didn't catch during the battle.

Yeah...this game is nice. PRetty involved with a bit of a learning curve it feels like. Looking through all the menus and stuff after the tutorials makes you feeel like you are lost. Guessing that just starting missions and getting on with it is the way to go though.
