Resetting/restarting with saved characters.
Anybody discover a way to do this? The utility doesnt work (for me anyway), and other options i have read seem rather complicated...

I have found where the savegames are, just dont know what to do with them to restart a new game.

Win 7 64 bit.

Thanks in advance.

I gather you're referring to "Jeremy Reaban's 1996 Wasteland Unofficial Reset Utility" and that you've since resolved your "problem"...

The "savegames" file info (most recent Maps & Characters) are 'contained' in the "Game 1 & Game 2" files. You'll NEED some ORIGINAL Game 1 & Game 2 'files' - that have been re-named Master 1 & Master 2 ! I BELIEVE that ONLY 'resets' / 'restores' the original Map locations... NOT the original 'characters.
Just to be on-the-safe-side... you should FIRST "SAVE CHARACTERS" (they'll be saved in a 'file' named "CHANGE.DAT", AND IF NECESSARY, be "IMPORTED" back into the game with their acquired skill levels & supplies !

DON'T KNOW IF this "works" for games on Steam ! ???

Wasteland DOESN'T 'play' on Windows VISTA systems and newer... UNLESS using DOSBox.

So you'll need a complete copy of all your Wasteland game files in your DOSBox application... and you should be able to 'reset' the game there.

Good Luck !
