Fast Travel options?
Will there ever be any? I'm currently still on the Island Darion doing quests in Verlon Forest, Arlania, the Marshan Swamps and Greenwort, about 10 hrs in and the amount of travelling gets a tad bit annoying, will there ever be any fast travel options?

Especially the amount of time riding my horse only to replenish my troops is taking a bit too long... I wouldn't mind travelling one way to my previous location but having to go to the Castle and back to the point where I left off always takes up a lot of time...

not really. If you think it's bad now, wait till you get to the freedom isles, the dwarfen mines, and the elf lands. You eventually unlock shortcuts, but it's usually later on in the areas. Get ready to backtrack A LOT in this game.

Damn... Oh well, thanks for the info. Nonetheless it's probably the best game I bought this summer, even better than all the games I got during the sale xD Really digging it, so it's not really a big problem :)

Yeah, having reached Kordar it is a massive ball-ache having to backtrack through Kordar, through Creiston mines and through Arlania after every battle or two. Despite judicious use of the resurrection spell.

Yup I feel you... Sometimes when I feel like it though I do some "unit-transporting" where I buy the units I need and garrison them as close as possible to my current location to spare some time when I have to go restock those units.

Oh, good idea. Still unwieldy and time consuming, but worth a go.

Yeah, it doesn't actually save time per se, but it's only extremely time-consuming and tedious when you mule units from one place to another. Afterwards you can just quickly drop by to restock easily :)

The less backtracking you do the higher your score will be. Try not to lose many units during battles, use the local supply of troops rather than your favorite, and you can keep extra troops with you as a backup.

During your first playthrough, travel times can be a bit aggravating - it would have been so nice if they had simply given you 5 reserve slots in these games so you could at least take spare troops with you and/or swap troops with locally available ones.

Still, the dwarven mines are probably the worst offender, everything else is just a minute of travel every now and then. Try to avoid fights that cost you more than a handful of creatures at first and you can routinely do half a continent until you have to restock.
