Black bars while playing KBTL on 16:9 display

The game doesn't have black bars when playing fullscreen on a 16:10 and I was surprised (and slightly annoyed) to find out that it doesn't fully work with 16:9.

I've looked around and I couldn't find a solution so I'm posting here in case someone has anything to suggest.

Alas, this game wasn't made with 16:9 in mind, there's no solution to that.

Someone seems to have made a 16:9 fix

Does it add real 16:9 resolution, or does it just zoom in - and loose the top and bottom of the screen in the process ? Thanks

It's real 16:9 resolution and it looks just like it does with later games in the series.

I wonder if it is possible to edit som files and fix this on my own ?
I did edit a fix for the missing "ground items marker" in KBWofTN on hard difficulty
