Before I start, you need to have several pieces of dlc for this game, the dlc's stack so you cant just get the last one and be done with it. So you need for the motherland, their finest hour etc. Each dlc adds a bunch of new stuff and balances the game out. Now the game itself is complicated, as in there are many small parts to the game that interconnect. There are many minute details that you can put your attention to if you want it. There is also automation available. The core of this game is a WW2 warsimulator and it does a decent job at that, the map is devided into many small provinces that you fight over. Look at some screenshots to see what I mean. So for instance france is devided into 300 or more seperate provinces you can fight over. It's a game of numbers. You can command every division individually and every air wing too. So you can have rommel roll into denmark with tanks or guardian control a bunch of infantry divisions. Neither of these options are ideal but you can do what you want and go about it how you want. That is what makes the game fun for me.
