Problem with HOI3 - TFH

I was playing HOI3, i upgrade to Semper FI, everything was great. Now upgrade to TFH. I cannot start the game. You know this is not my job to find that solution. Several players mention that is a problem. SO find a solution. WE PAY and we need a solution. I DONT KNOW, contact or may compains, make a patch, or please return me my money. This is not fair, i trust STEAM and buy games. But without you test everything why you sell. I will wait for a reply. Thanks a lot

Your post is not very helpful. Can you describe what is happening when you try to start the game? Are you getting any error messages? Does the intro screen appear then disappear? Are you getting any music?

When i start HOI, it is opens the HOI3 popup. It has an empty Select mod to play box. Welcome to Hearts of Iron III: Their Finest Hour. Latest version is 4.02. And start. I put start and nothing happen. Thats all.

I start the game and it plays Ride of the Valkyries, etc. But when it gets to the pic. of the German infantry guy and says "initialising map" the screen goes black and it says and error occurred...send error report to microsoft or don't send, I don't send and it takes me back to steam. (why don't they spell "initializing" right?)

Can't speak about the error but the spelling might be U.K. English v/s U.S. English.

A suggestion would be to verify you have all the pre-reqs installed and current. I had similiar errors with my HOI3 install and had to reinstall the pre-reqs.

What happens after you click on START? Does the game just quit and you end up back in Windows?

The standard advice is to re-install or verify you have the correct pre-requisite software installed. Go here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hearts of Iron 3\install

and install/re-install dotnetfx and vcredist_x86 (32bit) or vcredist_x64 (64bit)

This assumes you are running Windows 7. Adjust accordingly for Vista or Windows XP.

Do you have the Addon For the Motherland? You need FTM to play TFH.

maybe this will help, i had the same problem and i installed an older version of direct x (9) then it worked fine

Have you tried reinstalling? Often installing expansions in the wrong order can cause problems, such as overwriting newer files with old ones.

When i try install it is download and put files automated. How can i decide the order ?

Steam just updates the game with the new files. if you uninstall everything, then click install again, it will install everything as one file in the right order. I'm not even sure if this can be an issue on Steam, but i thought it was worth checking if you have no other leads.
