Hearts of Iron III crashing !! HELP !!!

I've been playing Hearts of Iron III. At first it was going well, but now when I am trying to load up my old saves, it crashes when I hit the "Saved Games" button on the initial world map. I have no idea why it does that, it just says "Hoi3.exe has stopped working". Pls help!
