Blood Knights is pretty bad. The story is trite and filled with wooden characters and campy dialogue. The enemy AI is as basic as it gets, so most enemies can be shot to death from a distance and most bosses (including the anticlimactic final boss) can be killed easily by kiting them or running back and forth while attacking. Game progression is linear, and peppered throughout are a small series of choices for the player to make, though they only make a difference to the story if you make particular combinations of choices. Sound is buggy, and frankly, so are many aspects of the game. It's full of gameplay ideas that probably sounded great when they were pitched, but by the time the game was done, everything just ended up as a severely underpolished and generic hack n' slash. For all of its many faults, I will say that Blood Knights provides brief glimmers of really satisfying gameplay, and I did have enough fun playing it to devote just under 5 hours to beating it. It's probably worth at least one playthrough for most people, but with all that went wrong, I'd have problems recommending it at its ridiculous price of $14.99.
