Crash report
BOY do I wish I had saved more often. At least an hour's worth of play down the drain because the game crashed. Don't get me wrong, it's enjoyable enough that I don't mind replaying it, but it's kind of annoying.

Anyway, I've compiled as much information as I can about what happened; hopefully this will be useful to someone.

It happened while in battle; I was defending and pressed X to defend against the enemy's attack, and the game seemed to freeze. The "defend" prompt was still up, and pressing X did nothing; when I clicked on "defend", it disappeared, and the game basically froze. The music and animations were still running fine.

Additional details: I was in fullscreen mode at the time. I couldn't open the Steam Overlay using Shift+Tab. I hit Alt+Tab and went back to the main Steam window, opened Big Picture mode, tried launching it from there, no success (just went back to the game already in progress, still frozen). I pressed F1 and it brought up the top menu options; I changed to windowed mode but nothing happened. Pressing R would bring up the message log; pressing Esc or the right mouse button would cause my level number to disappear and reappear. All other keys did nothing when pressed.

One other thing - after I Alt+Tabbed out of the game and right-clicked it on the taskbar, one of the menu options was... strange (I didn't think to write down what it said). When I clicked on it I got a dialog box saying that the game was already running.

I am running the most recent version (was just installed a few weeks ago). When I check the game's properties it says "Current content Build ID: 534685". Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I can provide other system specs if needed.

Hopefully this gets fixed soon, though if there's nothing the devs can do I understand. T_T

Crashes the same way on occasion for me too...using Win 8.1. Gotta save more often.
