Stuck in demo mode.... HELP
Ok first off, know that I'm not a chronic cheater. After finishing the game and finding all three endings, I decided to play around with the game physics, so I enabled developer cheats to test out flying/autocompleting levels/etc, you get the point. I quickly did building A and half of building B on my own before turning on cheats to just bypass C and floors 1-4 of the Tower, straight up to the golden gates. After I beat the game via transcending, I decided to not wait for the credit roll to finish, so I just exited in the middle of the credits scene. However, when I tried to open up a new game, I got sent to the demo world (I think it's the demo world? it has three sigils: easy-medium-hard, and they unlock the castle). Since then, every time I boot up Talos Principle, the home screen says "press any key to continue", but the main menu is gone and there's no new game option. Every time I press a key at the home screen, I just get sent straight to the demo world. idk if I messed up any sequence of events by bypassing credits or skipping levels, but all I know is that I'm pretty much just trapped in the demo world forever. Is there any way to start a new game or reset the game data? I already tried deleting local game content on steam but it didn't change anything in the game. I also tried using the prjStartNewTalosGame command but that didn't change anything either, it just restarted at the same place.

In the cheats menu, there's an option called "kiosk mode". It's used for demoing the game in shops and trade shows. Looks like you inadvertently turned that on. Just go back to the cheats menu and turn it off.
Thanks! That did the trick; it's fixed now

This kiosk mode starts to sound more and more like a purgatory for cheaters.

Thanks for this - I managed to get stuck in the demo as well. Just a newbie question - where would I find the cheats/dev menu. I've gone through all the available menues - that are presented in the demo section and couldn't find my way back to a cheats / dev menu. Appreciate your time and assistance. cheers Nat

When EnableCheats is set on 3, you have hotkeys for a few cheats, like: I - for invisibility, Z - for ghost, G - for godmode, J - for fast walking, L - for fly.

In the menu, you can also find a cheat menu, where you can unlock all the mechanics.

Also, when you are in cheat mode, if you look at a signpost and press Fire and Alternate Fire at the same time (default: both mouse buttons), and hover over a sigil, you can instantly get that sigil or star.

When in cheat mode, you can also right click on the "reset" button to instantly solve a sigil arranger puzzle.

And lastly, in the latest PublicBeta patch, there's a new boundable key for "Fast Forward", that helps with the recorders.

to access the cheats, the console command is cht_bEnableCheats = 3

Thanks so much :) I'll see if I can escape ;) . Saw the words "game physics" & thought it'd be interesting - was but for the wrong reasons :) thanks again cheers Nat.

In the in-game menu (where there's Options, etc), at the bottom of the screen, there's Resume on the left and "Cheats" in the right/middle.

Thanks - problem was that the menu was no longer available. I used the command promp console and kept asking for new game to be loaded - after a few attempts the screen menu was again available - I unselected kiosk and all is good. Flew to the top of the tower - fantastic game world you and yours have designed. :D cheers Nat.
I'm having the same problem. I'm on a Mac. There is no menu to reset this. It's very frustrating.

If you do this, the menu should appear:

I'm on a Mac for some reason the console is not accessible.

If you don't have the Tilde key oj your keyboard, you can invoke the console with F1. Might need to hold Fn and the press the F1 if your keyboard doesn't have dedicated F-keys row (as most Mac keyboards lately).
Yes... I now refuse to explore anything like the tempting words " game physics" :/
