Question about importing from BG EE to BG2 EE
Well i own the gog version of the game, but i'm thinking about buying both this and the first in their Enhanced editions, since i want to play the game again.

What i like about the originals is the mod that make it so after you finish BG1 you don't even have to import your character over it just starts bg2. You keep all your stats and stuff for your companions too.

Anyway my question is, is there a mod for the enhanced editions that do the same thing, or should i wait or just play the originals with mods?

That would be my question as well, since I have maxed out character files in BG2 GoG version, but that is the original.. I wonder if it would work.. I could try importing them.. n hope it doesn't break anything.

Edit.. Just imported my chr files from GoG BG2 to EE n it works!!! Now I have a party to blow through the game! I was hoping not having to do The Watchers Keep a dozen times just for the extra points, now I dunt have to! :D

Or you could play the game as intended, and not just "blow" through it, but rather.. enjoy it.

RPGs aren't about "winning", they're about the emotional impact that they have on you, as a person. If you just want to "win" the game, congratulations.. your prize is.. nothing.

RPGs are whatever people want them to be, same with games.

games are designed with an intent behind them. they have an objective goal. in this case it's story telling. that doesn't change that the player experince will alter it, but it doesn't mean it's a change for the best either.

Angery birds isn't going to be an amazing platform experince because I try to saftly land them

Yeah a game has a style or a goal, but within that goal i decide how i want to play it. Baldur's gate is about story and one of the best, but that doesn't change the fact that if a guy want to make an awesome character he can do that even if he doesn't care about the story. So there's limits in the game atleast, but within those limits you decide not some internet dude;)

Kind of missing the point, sense you end up with an "awesome character" anyway.

unless you have a fetish for math and arcane AD&D rules, baulder's gate is a pretty crappy action experince. thus those who want action would ultimately be happier with a game designed to be a good action experince.

not to assume anything of the OP, it sounds like he's attached to his character, as anyone would be, rather than trying to "cheat"

Yeah i get your point and i was the OP, it was more the comment to the second post. But the game is my game and i play it how i want it, i might find a better game that suits my gaming style, but it's still mine to play how i see fit. Anyway i enjoy rpgs and my goals are normally just the story.

I finished both games without cheating then after that I played BG1 again and used the multiparty option once I got all the stat books I made my god Character and played it again and find it was kind of boring so then I went back and played it normally but played it again normal but with different classes so far I think the Cleric class has got to be my favorite next to wizard

A lot of fun things can be done with the Import/export mechanic.
