Will regular edition save load into enhanced edition?

Can I load a standard edition save into the enhanced edition? I am in the middle of a game and dont want to start over..thanks everyone!!!

Hi,

Unfortunately, due to changes to the game's engine, save games from the original release of BGII are not compatible with BGII:EE.
