Why no workshop?
BG2 has a wealth of mods and one of the oldest modding communities out there. Why isn't Steam leading the charge for assimilating the old mods into EE with the ability to use the Steam Workshop? That just doesn't make any sense to me at all.

The mods that exist are kind of hacked in. There isn't any kind of legit creation kit available for it so that's more or less why there's no workshop, as far as I know.

If I'm remembering correctly, Black Gate actually released a kit that allowed people to modify the game. Some mods went around this, but its not like the company was trying to prevent it. They actually encouraged it.

All the major mods expect ascension are already compatible with bg2:ee.

Now BG:EE is missing the most important mod NPCproject but cmorgan has been working on that off and on.

The beamdog BG website has alot of threads about mods and whats happening with the game at its site.
