Are you trying to "Load" the BG1 save in BG2? I've tried that, crashes every single time.

The game isn't clear on this, but you're actually supposed to import your character FROM BG1 save:

- Click "New Game" -> "New Character"
- On bottom right corner you should see "Import" -> click on it and select your BG1 final save.
- If everything went fine, your character portrait & stats should be displayed in middle of character creation screen.
- Click "Done", and you're... well, done.

Listen to Amjii, he is correct. Worked for me apart from the character portraits. They seem to have banished... oh well, back to the dungeon crawling.

I had to manually drag the BG 1 EE Final-Save to the BG 2 EE save folder. They're located in My Documents.

After doing that, start a new game in BG 2 EE, Create New Character, Import, Load Saved Game and select the Final-Save (or any save you took from BG 1 EE, just so long as its late game).

Its too bad the process isn't more automated in this day and age. If you are still having trouble, just say so and I'll give a more detailed step-by-step.

Don't forget to copy your character's picture from the BG1 portrait folder to the BG2 portrait folder.
