Worth if I own GOG copy
I'm curious if this is worth the money if I already own Baldur's Gate II from GOG. Thoughts?

I got it when it was on sale quite cheap - less than the price of two cups of coffee.

There are some improvements in the UI which I like
You can zoom in & out; and the presentation of stats is improved imo
Some say there are bugs (is there a bug-free game?) but so far I have not encountered any that I noticed. But I am in an early chapter. Thus far I like it and feel it was worth the few Euros I paid.

Not at full price no. If you are going to buy it you should buy it when it comes on sale.

You can actually make mods that do more in the Enhanced Editions because it just wasn't possible before and the EE's actually improve and add functionality for better mods. It's easier also just installing this instead of getting all the mods and such to piece it all together, and still, it's not the same thing.

The value of that has to been determined by you. To some people it's nothing, to others it changes everything. I support everything the devs of the EE's are doing and happily support them.

AAA companies don't do stuff like this very much, and I'd like to show them you can make money focusing on making a better game experience, even if the games are already legendary.

I second that. I read a post from a prominent BG2 modder on Spellhold (I think) who said exactly that... BG2EE has improved modability. He also said the battle ai of npcs was improved.

Yes, it's worth it. I have not encountered any bugs yet and I've been playing this since the original one. The text is clearer, you don't have to screw around with Wide Screen patches and it does look better. I have the one form GOG installed and when I go back to it, I quickly go back to the EE version. I like two things a lot, the "quick loot" and the "total rolls" displayed number when you start rolling.

with the recent update, BGEE is the way to play, it s smoother, looks good and some very subtile and handy additions makes it really...enhanced

gog version is fine but EE is ready to play with 0 hassle and simply better than a modded gog version

I had issues with the older verssions as my PC wouldnt run them. Unknown compatibility issues. The BG2 EE works like a dream.

I, like Kamster99, recommend buying a second copy but wait for a sale.

Enjoy.
